    3. My ties to Ellis county are with my gg grandmother who family folklore indicates died in Ennis TX in 1920. Her name was Emma? or Emaline? or possibly Telitha E. Kennedy (possibly maiden name Sargent). She was b. Yates City, Knox Co. IL in 1848. Married Robert J. Kennedy and in 1870 they were in Elba Twnsp, IL. They moved to Kansas City, MO. (possibly Shelby Co. MO first) where Robert died in 1894. They had 3 children -- George Elmer -- b. 1873, Nettie or Nellie b. 1875, and Martha R (Rosia or Rose) b. 1877 all b. in Yates City, IL. I do not have any marriage dates for the daughters but believe that Nettie (Nellie) may have married a Nylen? I think that Emma might have gone to Ennis to be with siblings or children. She may also have remarried? I would like to offer a challenge that has benefited others in the past. Why not take a few minutes to tell what family you are researching in Ellis County. If everyone on the list would take a few minutes and do this, I think that many of us would find others researching the same lines. My family ties to Ellis county are through John Meredith Couch who died in Italy, Texas 06/14/1900. He was a coowner of the Couch Bros. & Hamlett store in Italy. I hear the building still stands. > I also am related to the George Washington Underwood line. he died in Waxahachie, Texas 07/16/1956. If you are researching either of these lines I would like to hear from you. Now everyone else, who are you researching? > > Carol Couch > > > Get Your Free E-mail at Ancestry.com (http://www.ancestry.com) > Ancestry.com -- For all your Family Correspondence! > >
