I am researching the Smithwick, Sims, and recently the Car Forrest family. My Grandfather was born in Milford (probably on a farm) later moved to Forreston where he grew up. After his marriage to Minnie Walker he moved briefly to San Saba County. Then to Sterrett where several of the children grew up. Later they moved back to Forreston where they lived until their deaths. His in the 1970s, and hers in 1994. I don't have much information on the Sims, but my grandmother had a niece that was a Sims. Car Forrest married a Virginia Sims. Forrest keeps showing up in many of the reference materials that I have read so I am wanting to know more about this gentleman, who founded the little town given his name, "Forreston".
