TXELLIS LIST: As a person born in Texas and who spent his formative years there, I heartily endorse Tom Mote's message. While I feel unqualified to understand all of the political stresses of the war, I had about a dozen relatives including my g grandfather, Benjamin J. B. Dyess, injured when 17 years old and Lt. Charles Bonham Scott, my gg grandfather, killed in a train wreck at Cleveland, TN on 11/4/1862. I will never agree to anything that does away with memorials or plaques dedicated to these men who accepted their duty as they saw it. Clyde Deavers Lady Lake, FL
