Sylvia and Mona, The "2nd Naval Jack," i.e., the second flag from the left in the second row of flags at the URL Sylvia gave below, is the flag that I associate with the Confederacy. I'm not sure whether or not it is the one that so offends those who want all flags, memorials, etc., removed, trampled and destroyed. I repeat that I am happy that I did not have to choose between loyalty to my country and loyalty to my state, nor did I have to decide whether to defend my family, home and property. That having been repeated, I am unwilling to begin the "slippery slide" which inevitably results from the desire to accommodate to every demand. Tom NB: My apologies to those who feel this discussion should not have taken place in this forum. I will not make any more responses here but may make one or two if questions or comments are sent directly to me. Incidentally, I still don't know what the "Southern Cross" flag is. :^) Tom Sylvia Smith wrote: > To clarify the true "Stars & Bars" and the "Confederate Battle Flag" and it > variations visit this site: > http://members.aol.com/wlldrebel/flags.html > Tom Mote said: > > > Mona, > > > > Please forgive my ignorance for I am not really a Civil War buff.
