Hi Nancy, There are 110 cemeteries in Ellis County and 9 of them are in Waxahachie. A website is http://www.cemeteries-of-tx.com/Etx/Ellis/ListEllis.html and there is a message board here; plus some cemeteries will allow lookups. Do a search of google.com with key words (funeral home, waxahachie, tx) and the results will be at least 5 and each one has a website and phone number and email addresses. I have had great success with funeral homes contacts. Happy New Year, Ya’ll! I’m trying to track down “Jett Thomas”. Jett was actually born here in Georgia around 1818. Sometime in 1860 – 61, he moved his family to Pine Bluff, Desha County, Arkansas. A few years later, they moved down to Waxahachie, Ellis County, Texas. Family lore says Jett owned and operated a General Store there. It is my understanding he died and was buried there. We live in Springdale, Arkansas. Fayetteville has a good library but I don't like to drive there because of the traffic. When we moved here traffic wasn't a problem but it sure is now. Ok Anne, I understand what you are asking me. I was understanding that you knew some of the family personally. I really am interested in anyone of the Threets that are buried in Ellis County. If you have access to a Cemetery book and could look up the Threets in Ellis County it would help me to maybe tie some of them together with dates. I know that some of the Threet family is buried in Ellis County. If I start with the Threet name and then I will be able to maybe add some others to the list. I am currently getting a list of obits that I need in the area and will need help with it in the near future. If you can go to the Corsicana library and look up some of them for me let me know and I will get you some name to look up for me. Thanks for the help. Sorry for the misunderstanding. I will send you a list of 10 to 15 names for obit if you can do this. I know that you are a senior citizen and I don't want you to do something that you don't have the time to do.
