    2. Harold, For a few min. I thought we may have had a match, now Im not so sure. My Gibbs line has Abijah Smith Gibbs (he went by Smith) b:1805 in Tn d:1851 in Ellis, co, TX. he was married to Sarah Garret b: 1808 in Green co, Tn. their children were born between 1829-1843 in Tn, 1854 in Mo, and after 1849 in TX. If you run into a Abijah or Smith anywhere get back to me< I have a lot of info on descendants for this couple. Meanwhile I will keep an eye for your line also. Dian

    3. Thanks so much, Linda. I can't make a connection to your Doshie Forston yet, but it will give me another name to look for. That's such an unusual name, I have a feeling there may be a connection there. I'll contact you if I find anything. Thanks again. 3. >From the Rice Rustler 14 June 1912 Saturday afternoon about 4:30 o'clock, Mrs. S.T. Green, her three children, Dewey and Misses Connie and Gay Green and Miss Ella Alford were out for a ride in Mr. Green's car, and just after they passed Roark's park west of town, the boy, who was driving, lost controll of the car, it skidded and turned over pinning the entire party beneath. Lee Caldwell and party of friends who were right behing them lifted the car and released them and brought them to town. Mrs. Green's left shoulder was painfully injured and she was in bed until this morning. She is now doing nicely. Gay Green received slight bruises, Dewey and Miss Connie escaped injury. Miss Ella Alford received the worst injuries, her left shoulder was hurt, one of her ribs fractured and it is possible that she received internal injuries. She is reported doing well. Johnnie Clark went out and pulle the car in. It was considerably damaged. -- Ennis News. I hope to be able to determine that the John Paul who died in Buena Vista was actually James P. Paul who died there and is buried in the City Cem. It will just take a little more digging. 3. The name of the funeral home is Byrum. Edgewood Cemetery was established in 1845. It is located about 1/4 mile south of Beltline Road, south of the city of Lancaster, Dallas County, Texas on both side of Nokomis Road. MAPSCO 86M The other 'unnamed' cemetery is Rawlins Cemetery, established 1848; it is on Old Beltline Road, 2 and 1/2 miles west of the city of Lancaster, Dallas Co., TX and east of Houston School Road. MAPSCO 85L. This cemetery and others of the south Dallas County area have been published by the Dallas Genealogical Society in a book named DALLAS COUNTY TEXAS: GENEALOGICAL DATA FROM EARLY CEMETERIES -VOLUME II 1989. After the information on the deceased person in the Rawlins Cemetery you will find, when at all possible, a SURVIVOR referred to by number. This does not necessarily mean a descendant, but an INFORMANT who is familiar with this particular family. This was one for a benefit to those person doing genealogy or in case of the cemetery needs to get in touch with someone concerning broken stones, etc. The names and addresses of the "survivors" are found at the end of the list of those interred. For the information below and other Volumes go to: http://www.dallasgenealogy.org/sales/catalog.htm Dallas County, Texas: Genealogical Data from Early Cemeteries, Volume 2 Cemeteries included are: Edgewood, Floyd-Taylor, Hutchins, Patrick-Pruitt, Porter, Rawlins, and Stadden. Directions and Dallas Mapsco numbers are included for locating the sites. About 6,000 surnames are listed. Indexed. 1989. (Also available in microfiche). 2. I am the person who was looking for a relative who was "buried about 2 miles from that place" and they were referring to Lancaster, TX. I have looked in the Rawlins and the Edgewood Cemetery books at the Lancaster Public Library without finding my person. I will try the lady who works at the funeral home and see if she might be able to help. Are there old graves (1914) that might have lost or never had markers? I know this man had children, but none lived in area, and none seemed to be a caretaker for him while he was ill. Thanks to all who took the time to reply to my posting.
