I sure wish we could still get copies of the History of Eastland County.Any thoughts of a reprint? There were only five farms in the county in 1870, all of them smaller than 20 acres in size and only 16 acres of improved land existed in the entire county. Most people wouldn't live in the County because of the Indian raids. About 1874 people started moving in and by the 1880 census there were 549 farms in the area and 4855 people living within the county.
