He died after an extended illness. Born in 1910 in Rio Vista, Ottinger moved to this area at the age of five. He retired in 1968 after farming for 45 years. His survivors include three sons: Bobby Ottinger of Coppell, Larry Ottinger of Terrell and Jimmy Ottinger of Irving. His surviving daughters are Nancy Flanagan of Grapevine, Doris Davis of Lewisville and Diane Freestone of Carrollton. He also had 14 grandchildren. Brothers and sisters include Charles Ottinger of Fort Worth, Jennie Lou Taylor of Irving, Ida Mae Tillery of Euless, Ruby Emerson of Watauga and Maggie Randolph of Fort Worth. Services were held at Rhoton-Wieland-Merritt Chapel in Carrollton on Thursday. Rev. Bill Bowman of Coppell and Dr. Floyd A. Norman of Dallas presided.
