SMITH, b. abt 1892 in Denton Co., TX. Don't know if she died young or was married. She is shown on the 1900 Denton Co., TX and her parents were W. E. Smith and Elizabeth. Would like to find out what happened to her. Thank you.
I know that Texas did not require death records until the early 1900's. Did Denton County maintain any death records in the 1880's. If not, I would like to know about other possible sources. John Harlan Hestand died in the Bartonville area around 1890. Any direction would help. Thanks in advance. Ken Hestand Fort Worth

There were a couple of fires in the area of the courthouse square, one in 1875 and one a bit later. I can't remember which, but one of them also destroyed the newspaper office, and with it the newspaper's morgue of old editions. You might check out this website: http://www.geocities.com/moonspinner.geo/JBurTomb.html It has Jeremiah and Nancys tombstone (and gives her maiden name as Turner). The person maintaining the site may have more information on the family.

Hello all, I was wondering if someone could do a look up for me, for an obituary, newspaper article or burial place, Maybe even a death certificate? Heck anything :-) for a Luther Kimes, he was b. Feb 6,1881 in Putnam,Monterey,Tennessee. And d. between 1811-1920 in Denton County, Texas, and or Tarrant County, Texas. Luther had a sister Loretta (rettie) Vaughn that also lived in Denton Texas, A Brother n law Granville Floyd Vaughn. Luther's wife name was Arminta(Minnie),A Son Byrtle/Birtle,A Daughter Carrie. I thought these names might be mentioned in an obit. It's a family rumor that he had hanged himself, so I thought that might be mentioned in a newspaper article or something. Any help finding more info about Luther Kimes would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance :-) This is my G Grandfather. Myrtleen Kimes
