We looked at it today and it almost looks like it could be Margaret Autry, except i see where it might ? be 1873. It starts of with In loving memory and then could be Margaret Autry. Could it have been erected 12 years after death. There is a long slab with a headstone and looks like a foot stone. What do you records show that name is. You are correct about all those old limestone headstones . It looks like you all might have tried to put green paint or something on them to try and read. My computer is in the shop but will check at library once i get home. I am in Dallas visiting with my daughter. Thanks again. Karen

At any rate, to the best anyone can figure I am descended from his son Captain John, his son John, Jr., and his son John English. John, Jr. is thought to have had two complete families of children from two marriages, mostly with the same names... including another John. But your John doesn't seem to fit into what I know about any John in that line so it must be in one of the other, collateral, ones... and I would suspect Captain Alexander, because of the middle initial... but actually I know nothing. You should check in and see if you can connect with anybody on the Autry surname list at: AUTRY-L@rootsweb.com Pinckley... sorry, I don't do Pinckley. <G> Richard White Tallahassee, Florida

Trionia is buried in the Chinn's Chapel Cemetery. Am looking for info on Trionia's parents, grandparents, great-grandparents, etc. Her parents were John A. Autry (1824-1894) and Winneford M. Watson (1824-1900). Her grandparents, great-grandparents, etc. are unknown.
Would sincerely appreciate a death lookup for my gg uncle George T. REED. He was married to my gg aunt Caroline A. BAIN who passed away and was buried in Leon County 1879. Believe George to have been living in Denton County at the time of his death, possibly living with one or some of his children. He was born in AL in 1833. Any and all help appreciated! After posting my message yesterday, I found the cemetery listing on Chinn's Chapel. As far as I know the only Autry buried there is Trionia Autry Pinckley, and I did find her listed. Are there any records on the members from the late 1850s thru the 1870s? Or on the pastors?

If you write them with the specifics and I think send them a SASE and $1.00 for each copy, they will make you a photocopy and return it. You might want to include all the specific data that you know so that when they look it up, they can find your ancestor if there are duplicate names. They will also be able to make obituary copies there. The library has a website so that you can obtain the exact address: http://dallaslibrary.org/
