We are researching her family and know the McNatt are related, but can not find the connection. We know an Effie McNatt Abernathy,Hunley McNatt, and Mrytle McNatt visited her. I have seen this school shown on old Denton County maps, but I have not been able to find any other information or pictures of this school. My mother lived on the Byron Brier farm which is on the old Stony road. I was born on that same farm. I would like to have any information that anyone has to share on the old Mania School. I have been trying to fill cracks in my genealogy recently, as I am getting ready to go on a genealogy hunting trip. One of the relatives I was trying to fill out is one Rufus Morgan Kincaid (1827-?) He moved from Tennessee (thru 1860 census) to Kansas (1880) via Indiana (per 1870) census. He is listed on the 1880 and 1910 census in Hiawatha, Brown County, KS. Well I was having a devil of a time finding the guy and his family. What i know about him: Born TN, parents born TN. Wife: Mary Born TN ca 1826, parents PA and SC. Son: WIllis M: b. 1865 Parents TN and TN So I did some hard searching of the 1900 census and found an R.M. Kincaid, born the same year, parnts TN, schoolteacher; wife Mary born 1826 TN; Parents PA and SC; and Willis M B 1865 parents TN and TN. Now, this may be a whole other family but I cannot imagine that much overlap with features like one having parents from PA and SC. I had always thought he was a hick farmer from TN who moved to KS and died. How he got to Denton, TX I will never know. I guess what I would like to know is whether there are suggestions as to what resources I might use to find if this is really him in Texas. Does anyone have access to Denton city directories around 1900? City lot maps with owners' names? ANy help, most appreciated. Mike

My GG-GM was Mary Elizabeth Terry Boswell. Her son W.T.T. Boswell married Mary Bartee McCombs daughter of William L. McCombs son of John Mathis and Mary Francis Sigler. Mary Elizabeth's brother James W. Terry married America Tennessee Sigler in Denton Co. She was the daughter of Phillip Nall Sigler. Mary's other sister Nancy Emma Terry married Jacob Holloway Sigler son of Georege W. Sigler & Eliza Johnson. Phillip Nall & George W. Sigler were brothers of Mary Francis Sigler McCombs. The information you mailed out a few years ago has really helped with my McCombs research. Also Robert Sigler has been much help. Thanks to both.
