>From census records she was in the Denton County area in 1880 with her child Julia. She resided with the William Basinger family and was listed as a servant. She was married to Tobe Holden/Holder 1-5-1893. She had three other daughters, Annie, Lillie and my grandmother Vinnie. My grandmother used the last name of Holden, however, her father was Wilson. She probably died sometimes after 1920. My aunt remembers that her grandmother had been murdered by her husband. They lived in the Lewisville area during this time. -----Original Message----- From: Dlunow@aol.com To: txdenton@rootsweb.com Sent: Tue, 28 Nov 2006 2:04 PM Subject: Re: [TXDENTON] Day/Howard In a message dated 11/28/2006 15:33:36 P Central Standard Time, sisglove@aol.com writes: Alice Wilson Holden Do you know when she was in Lewisville? Gloria Love My family is from the city of Lewisville in Denton County. I would like information that is related to the death of my maternal great grandmother Alice Wilson Holden. She was murdered. Where would I obtain information about her death? I've looked up her name in the Texas Death Index and have not found it. ________________________________________________________________________ Check out the new AOL. Hi I am doing some research in the Grayson County area and I'm not sure where you are? If you need photo's from cemetery's in the area I would be more than glad to help out. In fact if you have family that would like photos of old church's,homes or other land marks I would be more than Happy. I was in Sadler, Collinsville & Aubrey just 2 days ago, taking some photo's.It's just a short drive from Dallas and This is becoming my new little hobby along with searching for information on the Chapman family. It really makes my day to be able to send photo's to others that might not be able to get- otherwise. I am not a professional. Just for pleasure. Judy Chapman Hall P.O. Diane, For several years, the Denton R-C ran a column for the Denton County Genealogical Society called Heritage Hunters, written by Holly Hervey. I remember having told you I would send you a copy of the Blue Mound Cemetery Index. I just remembered while I was writing this note. I can scan the four pages or send it in an envelope. Let me know which you want. In a book I have, there was a reference to "Heritage Hunters." I believe it was an article in the Denton Record Chronicle. I am looking for copies of that article and copies of "Frontier Times" for my library. It is the Stagecoach Library for Genealogical Research. The library is located in Wimberley, Texas, 585 County Road 1492, Wimberley, Texas 78676-5674. If any one knows where these can be obtained, I would love to know about it. A donation of these items would be wonderful! They would be used by LOTS OF FOLKS. Thank you, Diane Lunow
