I researching the FONDREN, LOVE, MANLEY families in Dallas Co. John R. Fondren (1813-1906) moved his family to Dallas Co. in 1846. Osborn and Jane Love came to Dallas Co. in 1850s. Thomas J. Manley and family came to Dallas Co. about 1854. Thanks ----- Jerry

Hi Jerry, If John R. FONDREN died in 1906, have you tried getting his death certificate? TX deaths have been recorded at the state level since 1903. Although reporting them to the state wasn't all that consistant at first. Or you could try getting it from the Dallas County Clerk. For a lookup, go to the Texas State Library and Archives Commission. Scroll to the bottom of their web page and e-mail your request to them. If they have his death recorded, they're response will also tell you how to get his death certificate.
