I got my # when I was 12-14. Point is, it has nothing to do with drawing benefits. If your Rufus had a #, you should be able to find him on the SSDI. As I said earlier, there are 597 Savages on the list that died in Texas. One of them should be your Rufus, by whatever name. Good luck. ...............Fred
