It is was across the street from the Oak Grove Baptist Church. The area has grown up now and the cemetery can't be seen from the road. I don't know the current owners of the property. From what I remember her telling me, it was a small cemetery. My Mom is 77 years old and remembers it well. My mother's parents purchased a farm in the area (was Merlin Road), in 1938 and they would watch the families gather, hold services and could hear them singing across the field from them. The old church was abandoned as more people moved into the area and was eventually torn down by the new owners of the land. It was a black cemetery. The church members moved and the cemetery was no longer used after a few years. I attempted to contact several groups regarding this cemetery but no one showed any interest in it. I'm sure there must be somone who would like to know of this cemetery and the forgotten families in it. If anyone would like to have more information, please feel free to contact me. I would like for someone to be aware of this cemetery and preserve it for future generations.
