    1. Hi all, Thanks to the person who sent me a way to find if an Obit is in the Dallas Morning News. I did a little and found that this one is there, but I did not know how to access it, and did not know anything about the User name or the Password. This is one that I would be most interested in having. Robert C. McIlheran, and he died in Wichita Falls, but his funeral and burial were to be held in Dallas. The date is May 12, 1947. Any help will be appreciated. Mary

    1. Hi all, I am new on the list. Have been seeing that several people have requested OBITUARIES, and wonder if it possible that I would be able to obtain one. This one is for LouisLewis H. Liefert who lived in Dallas for over 40 years and operated a Grocery Store in the area that was once Oak Cliff. He died in Dallas 30 September 1943. He was my Uncle. Thanks in advance, Mary

    3. Mary, I am not able to get the obit for you, but want you to know that Oak Cliff is still a vivacious area of Dallas. Some areas are still very majectic, such as the Kessler Park area; others are very run down and dilapidated. The land area is the prettiest area of Dallas. 2. There are two free sites that I use for birth, death, marriage and divorce records. Vital search has a choice of a free option that has a lot of information. Then there is David Gray's People Finder that has Texas delayed birth, birth, death and is free. Both sites require registration. Linda Crosby, Texas

    1. Re: [TXDALLAS] Texas Births 1926-1995 now online - FREE
    2. Just an additional note. If you go to the USGenWeb main site and then click on state search. Search for your surname in the state of Texas. You will find that many birth records have been there for quite a while for most counties. They were put there when the records were originally available and were not removed. Just go to _www.usgenweb.com_ (http://www.usgenweb.com) Take care - Emma
