I hope we both find answers for our families. Mac Anderson & Lena Bowen. I would however like to tell my Granny who her gr-grandparents were before her time on this earth is done. May I add, I was raised in Van Zandt County Texas and there are many Weatherfords there. Also in Henderson county. Suggestions ... read books, visit the LDS church, use the Dallas Public Library. I used to live in Dallas & know for a fact they have a wonderful & huge genealogy dept. Will be back in touch with you in a few days when we return. Have a good night. Melanie

I am so sorry to hear of all that you have had to go through. I guess if we all stepped back and looked at our lives, we have all had something, some more than others for sure but life does have a way of throwing us some bad curves. Yet, I will have to say that Mac Anderson Weatherford got married and had a good marriage and a big family of good kids who loved him and his wife and my great grandmother, Ella married someone who adored her and she also had a very large family and her kids loved and adored her and their daddy and so both Mac and Ella turned out to have a good life no matter how bad it got started with them with a bad home situation. Life is something like a roller coaster sometimes with many ups and downs and it happens pretty regularly. I guess what is important is what we learn from the bad things and to not allow them to make us bitter but to make us better and more compassionate people toward others. Thank you for your help. Jane

I'm finding that it did happen ... all the time ... everywhere. Jane, even as late as my generation, things like that still happened. I was born in 1963. My grandmother married in 1938 had 7 kids & my grandfather got shot & killed because he was messing with another man's wife. Then in 1962 my mother got married had me & my brother & in 1967 my dad burned to death in a head-on collision on Fri the 13th Jan 1967. I call it "real life". Real Life s***cks sometimes. (pardon the expression). To give you hope, I did receive one reply of an AXE murder that occurred in Garland Texas in 1880, and found one girl with the murderer's surname living in a house with her uncle later that year. Of course I've got a lot of follow-up to do to verify & checkout if either of my girls were his children but one must admit that's a very good lead. I appreciate your communication & will keep your story in mind. Anything that runs across my desk I will certainly forward to you. Keep those messages posted & maybe somebody will see it.

I'm no expert but to me, "O" & "MAC" preceed Irish names. Never lose faith. It's difficult to keep the faith. Even myself I get discouraged & think ... "i'm never gonna get my answer" ... but someday somebody will write & lead you to the right place. It'll all fall-into-place & you'll say "OH I SEE ... NOW IT ALL MAKES SENSE". DNA testing is a good idea. I'm awaiting the results of a DNA test too & am hoping to learn more about how to use the markers of the DNA test to compare to particular surnames.

I've searched for answers to this mystery for over 30 years now. I am so hoping that the DNA testing of my Ella's brothers grandson will help us to find some answers some how at least for now it looks like they may have come more from England, Ireland or Scotland instead of Sweden according to her brothers DNA but then there may need to be another test made to help to find that out. It has also been suggested to me that her brothes name being Mac is not a Swedish name usually but more a name that one would think would come more from an Irish or Scottish family. I don't know what to think at this point. I still need more clues. Thanks for your interest, Jane
