Schmidt and his patrol partner, Lee Peyton/Payton when they served in Dallas Police Department during 1951-1953? They were involved in a shot gun incident of some sort. Also, my Dad campaigned for a guy named SAM PETTIGREW who ran for the Dallas County Commissioners Court, may have even run as a county judge, during the same time period. I'd like to know some more information about Mr. Pettigrew and why that particuliar race was so controversial. ALL information will be appreciated!!!!!!!!

I am looking for someone (in the Dallas or surrounding area) who mends and preserves torn documents. About 15 years ago there was a former Dallas librarian who lived in the Lochwood area who would bind books and repair torn documents with rice paper and archival adhesives. I have a letter that is in several pieces and I want it repaired and encapsulated. If anyone knows of someone who does this, please let me (and the board) know. thank you, Linda Rogers Mesquite, TX ********************************* duggie2.home.attbi.com

This data collection phase is very important because data accuracy is critical. By the end of the year I will be asking everyone to send pictures and stories, all of which will be included. This is a giant undertaking, but it will be most rewarding. What I need right now, in any format, is hard data: names of Spigner-Speigner-Spigener descendants, dates, burial places (cemetery names and locations would be very helpful -I'm trying to visit them all), and other good data. I will need proof readers and editors for content by around the end of the year, so please volunteer. And get your pictures and stories ready!! SEND INFO NOW - SNAIL MAIL, VOICE MAIL or EMAIL!!! THANKS. Fletcher Spigner, 28 Ricemill Ferry, Columbia, SC 29229 803-250-2284 (10 minute voice mail) or [email protected]
About 6 years ago when I started searching for my roots I received some help on the 1910 Census Dallas Co, Texas. I was not smart enough then to print off and file, but now I understand that this census shows if person was CSA or UNION. I did list the person that helped, one was Mike Basham, Dallas and the other was Janan Carothers Fort Worth. I know that Mike has gone on and I don't have Janan email address to see if she is the one. If anyone has access to this census could you check on the following and see if it list him as CSA or Union. I believe he was Union but obit say "He is about 65 years old, is a Confederate soldier and has been a member of Baptist Chfurch. This was from the Arlington Journal. He died March 22, 1911. 1910 Census information that I have: John S. Kinman Age 64, Birthplace IL Rosetta Kinman Age 43 (dau) Birthplace IL Pearl A. Kinman Age 20 (dau) Birthplace IL John S. Kinman was born in Pike Co., IL in 1845. Would really appreciate if anyone who has the census would check first to see if it does have a place for Civil War - either CSA or UNION. Thanks, Leroy Gailey Paint Rock, Texas

Contact the Diocesan Archives. I believe they are located on Lemmon Avenue in Dallas. They should have the various parish records. As to a parish for the Field/Woodall Rogers area, that would be the Sacred Heart Cathedral (now Santuario de Guadalupe) located on Ross Ave. Peter Kurilecz Richmond, Va [email protected]
