I have not proved it, but I believe they are from the Henry Franks family listed on pages 244-245 of "Coryell County, Texas Families 1854-1985". His ancestors were from North Carolina but he was born in Claiborne Parish, LA, per the article. Henry Franks married Nancy Crow and they are listed as having 12 children, four of whom are named as dying and being buried in Coryell Co. One of these was Rachel Sarah Franks. My husband is descended from Rachel Milbra Franks (according to Kittie Lucretia Hudspeth's SS-5 application <her daughter>). Family lore has it that Rachel's mother was Nancy Crow. Rachel Franks Hudspeth Griffee Williams is buried in Green Briar Cemetery near Gatesville. If anyone has any other information on this family, I would be glad to hear from them.
