Hello Bobbie, and all Coryell County searchers - I am looking for information to tell me the name of the wife of Billington Taylor. Billington Taylor was my mother's ggrandfather. My mother, Ruby Ross Williams, told me years ago, before I was interested in family history, that her ggrandmother was Mary Jane Witherspoon. I can only find where her ggrandmother could be Mary Jane Kimbrough. My mother's mother was Mattie Bird Ross, daughter of William Charlie Bird and Sarah Jane Taylor. Sarah Jane Taylor was the daughter of Billington Taylor and Mary Jane. I have information that Sarah Bird, b. 22 June 1867, no death date, is buried in Ruth Cemetery, on the Fort Hood reservation. Does anyone know her death date, and is she the wife of William Charlie Bird? I have information in my files that Billington JOHNSON Taylor and Mary Jane Kimbrough were the parents of Sarah Jane Taylor. Someone, I don't remember who, told me this and I have always assumed that it was right. But I have always remembered, and wondered why my mother told me about Mary Jane Witherspoon. At some time, I acquired Billington Johnson Taylor's Civil War file and Mary Jane Kimbrough Taylor's Civil War pension file. Neither record indicated Sarah Jane Taylor was their daughter.
