Cortell Co. List, I am researching the family of Isom Clark and his wife Jane C. (Williams) Clark. They are listed on the 1850 census of Van Zandt Co., Texas and are next found in records of Feb. 1853 receiving a Land Grant which was eventually in Coryell/Lampasas Co's. This grant was partially in Coryell and partially in Lampasas Co. near the Copperas Cove and Kempner area. Shortly after receiving this grant, Isom died. Records indicate that he was dead by 1857. Jane remarried a man named ? Simms sometime, but I do not know his first name or where they were married. While living in Lampasas/Coryell Co. a daughter of Isom & Jane named Mary Manerva Clark was married to James Sexton on June 22, 1858. This Mary M. (Clark) Sexton later married David Watkins in 1864 in Williamson Co. and then lived in San Saba and Burnet Counties. That second marriage took place after James Sexton was killed in the Civil War in 1863. I do not find Jane (Williams) Clark/Simms on the 1860 or 1870 census anywhere. She is next found living in Bell Co. on the 1880 census living with her son-in-law and daughter, Lewis Riddle and Rachell (Clark) Riddle. Jane is listed as Jane Simms, 74 years old, WIDOW, mid-wife. This means that Mr. ? Simms had also died before that date. Isom Clark and Jane C. (Williams) Clark had 19 children. Many of them were in Burnet/Bell/Williamson/San Saba Counties during the 1860's, 1870's and 1880's. I would be happy to share information on this family. I have information on many of them, but need information on Isom and his wife Jane. Keith Reed Arlington, Tx.
