In 1873, 1875, and 1877 there was not a Mt. Zion Baptist Church in the Leon River Baptist Association--which included Baptist Church in Coryell, Hamilton, Bell, Bosque, Milam, Erath, and Lampasas Counties. The minutes of the annual associational meetings for these three years are difficult to read, however, neither Edmond Eldred Sellers nor his father, Almond Lewis Sellers were listed as a pastor or as a messenger from any member church. The minutes DO NOT include a church roll for each church. There was a Mt. Zion Baptist Church formed in Hamilton County at Old Hico--Honey Creek Trading Post. Mt. Zion Baptist Church at Old Hico was first associated with the Bosque River Baptist Association. "In 1861 Isaac Reed was involved in the organization of Mt. Zion Baptist Church at the Honey Creek Trading Post--Old Hico. Rev. A. D. Maroney and L. D. Stringer of the Leon River Baptist Association assisted in the organization and ordained Reed who became the first pastor of Mount Zion. Isaac Reed participated in Indian fights, had limited education, was a fluent speaker, and a good preacher." I have not found a mention of Sellers associated with this Mt. Zion Baptist Church. After the railroad came to Hico in Hamilton County, Honey Creek Trading Post/Old Hico moved to the new location of Hico and Hico Baptist Church was established. However, Edmund Eldred Sellers, was involved in the founding of Pleasant Valley Baptist Church, in Hamilton County. "From my "People and Places: Gazetteer of Hamilton County, TX" <http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~gazetteer2000/> [Freepages server lost a disk last night so it is shut down until tomorrow.] "Pleasant Valley Baptist Church was founded Sunday, 10 September, 1876, and was one of the founders of the Hamilton County Baptist Association on 4 July, 1877. Daniel Babb preached the first sermon in the Pleasant Valley community under an oak tree. Pleasant Valley Baptist Church was organized by Rev. Daniel Babb, probably Rev. Noah T. Byars, and possibly Rev. Edmund Eldred Sellers." As per the minutes of Hamilton County Baptist Association, Edmund Eldred Sellers was pastor of Pleasant Valley Baptist Church in 1878-1879.
