Bobbie, I'm more of a "homer" than a Coryell County researcher. My g g g grandfather Isaac Meeks was born in KY in 1804 and migrated to Franklin County TN. Parts Franklin County was changed to Grundy County in 1844. Isaac's forth son Benjamin, b 1834 d. 1874 was my g g grandfather. After Benjamin died, his widow loaded her six children in a covered wagon and headed for Texas, landing in Bell County. John G. Meeks 1854/1896, was Benjamin and Abigail's first child and my g grandfather. He married Mary Ella Wharton, 1859/1935 and their first child was Robert E. Lee Meeks who was my grandfather. Robert E. Lee Meeks, 1877/1953 was born in Bell County and migrated to Coryell County around 1906. All children of Robert and Clara Halpain Meeks lived their full life in Coryell County except the eldest, Sudie, who married a railroader named H. O. Payne and they lived in Waco until H. O. was transferred to San Antonio. Manson Meeks owned and operated Meeks Dairy after he bought it from Robert E. and Leonard, my father, owned and operated Meeks Cafe for some 43 years before retirement. Mary Meeks cared for her Mother for years before her death and Raymond worked for Leonard. My sister, Aunt and two cousins still make their home in Gatesville. Robert Earl "Bob" Meeks
