There is a Lafitte listed in Colorado County Texas. Go to the homepage of www.rootsweb.com/~txgenweb/ and click on Index to Cities and Towns in Texas. also on this page, you can click on TXGenWeb project County alpha Index and it will take you to Colorado County. I am sure there are volunteers there who can help you with Lafitte and your family.
