Hi Belle: My gg grandfather James M. Payne and wife Mary Ann (Latham) Payne arrived in Coryell Co. approx 1854. They had four children: Thomas McCarty, Gustavus A., Margaret A., and Theodore. Ever heard of them? Mary Ann was the daughter of Mastin and Sarah Latham who also arrived at approx. the same time.
