    1. [TXCORYEL] Jan meeting
    2. Bobbie Ross
    3. Our January meeting of the Coryell County Genealogical Society was held last night. It was well attended and enjoyed. Bobbie Thornton gave us a very good rundown of all of the things that could be found in land records. Any record that is recorded CAN be found in land records. Unexpected things like marriages, adoptions, wills, death dates, children's names can be discovered in land records. Also - the 1845 Webster's dictionary defines step-son as a son-in-law. Also discussed was early writing styles and land measurements. Come on guys - let us know what families are your main interest in Coryell County, someone on this list is bound to be able to help you. 1. Seward family
    2. Ed Seward
    3. I was born in Gatesville in 1920. But we moved away soon thereafter. My first remembrance of Gatesville was when I was about seven years old and I came to visit my grandparents, John E. and Alice Seward who lived at about the edge of town. My dad was William E. "Ed" Seward. I know my grandmother was buried in the IOOF Cemetery in Gatesville. The newspaper article telling about my grandfathers death says that he was also buried in the IOOF cemetery, but I have been there and looked and could not find his grave site. If anyone remembers any of these people I would like to hear from you. Also if anyone knows how to find out who is buried at the IOOF cemetery, please let me know who to contact. If John Edward Seward is not buried there, how can I find out where he is buried. Thanks in advance for any help. Edward Sadler Seward eseward@net1inc.net
