    3. I am researching several families in the Coryell Co. area. John McCoy Key was my ggggrandfather. He came to Anderson and Upshur County Texas in the 1850's but later lived in Coryell County. He is shown with the 1880 Coryell County census. He was a physician. I don't know much about him and have been looking for any other of his descendants. He had a daughter Molla Key who was born in Texas. The family story is that he had 5 wives and several children. Molla was his first child and her mother died right after she was born. Molla Key married Duffie Watson Gambrell who came to Coryell Co. in the 1870's. They had 7 children in Coryell County (Gatesville) - Mitchell, Reid Key, John Duffie, May Anna, Eunice Elizabeth, Nora Francis, and Fleta Cecilia Gambrell. I have been told that Molla and Duffie are buried in the Masonic Cemetary in Gatesville. May Anna Gambrell was my great grandmother and she married Benjamin Ernest Ekrut who had immigrated from Germany in the 1890's. She and Benjamin had 5 children - some in Gatesville and others in Fort Worth. My grandfather was their oldest son, Ernest Erbal Ekrut. Daniel Trapp is another of my ancestors shown on the 1880 census in Coryell County. They left and moved to Oklahoma in the 1890's. His wife was Sallie. Their daughter Betty (Elizabeth) married Thomas Martin Fryar and they are shown living in Coryell County in the 1880 census. (The last name was spelled Fryer in the census). They also left and moved to Oklahoma in the 1890's. Any one who is working on these lines or who has information about these people, I would love to hear from.
