Hi, Has anyone received any information as to when the 2000 Coryell Co. Family History book will be ready? Faye cnfb@flash.net
Bobbie, do you have any reference in any cemetery records to Lula (Elizabeth) M. Pendergrass (Pendergast) Robinson? She is supposedly buried in a cemetery somewhere in Central Texas. Data from some sources indicates b 7/25/1869 in Nashville, TN and died 11/23/1901 in Valley Mills, Bosque Co, TX. She was married to William Henry Robinson 11/13/1887 in McLennan Co, TX and they had six children. Information says she was buried in Post Oak Cemetery at Valley Mills, but no one can find the grave or any reference to her otherwise. Any help would be appreciated.
Hi all, I'm I the only one who got taken by Family Discovery? If you have had the misfortune of being taken by these people, please fill you complaint with the IFCC and contact your bank or credit union. The IFCC can be reached at: internetfraud@ifccfbi.gov Then download the pdf file and complete it and email it back. If you paid by credit card you need to contact your bank for the appropriate form to complete and they bank will charge the money back to Family Discovery and you will see a credit on your CC statement. $20.00 may not seem like much - but that's why people make a quick buck off others!
If you haven't checked this site out, you may be interested in knowing that it is a front for advertising in that before you can actually perform a search, you have to wade through ads to even get the search definition screen. Personally, I find that it is much easier to go straight to the archives. Granted, there are some people who don't mind ads like that and prefer to have everything in one place, but that's what bookmarks are for! Great job you are doing with the list and page! Bobbie, You sure made my day. Couldn't believe it when you said you found Laman on the 1900 census,Coryell Co.How do I contact Heritage Quest when I get ready to order the CD? Yes, Jesse and Nancy Jane were married and had one son and she died in childbirth so that explaines the second child not living. They have her birth date 1874 and the family bibles say 1873. I found out that the living son died in New Mexico several years ago. Many, many thank for all your work in helping me. You will never know how much it is appreciated. You have really lucked out here. I have the 1900 census of Coryell County on CD. It is extremetly hard to read, but I have done a partial index of it, what I could read, and the Laman family is there: They are in Precinct 2, #72-74 (Page 62A on the CD) Laman, Jesse W M Aug 1870 24 TX MO MO Nancy J. W F Aug 1874 26 TX Ireland TN (these years don't add up, says both are married, but Nancy has had 2 children and only 1 living) James W M Mar 1898 2 TX TX TX McMeeken, Lena W F Nov 1893 7 (sister) TX Ireland TN You can get this CD from Heritage Quest it isT623-1624 1900 TX, they cost about $19.95. Oakton was a place in Coryell County about 3 miles ne of Arnett, which is another community that has died away. Oakton contained a school, a church and some homes. The school only met for 6 months a year. Church of Christ members donated money to help build the building and had their services there. Your people are most likely buried near there without tombstones. Bobbie, Thank you for looking up the information I had inquired about. I will just keeping looking and hopefully someday I will find their gravesites. In the clipping regarding Manze McMeekin they said she lived in the Oakton Community. Do you know where that was or is located? Thanks again for your help. I was born and lived in Gatesville until after the 6th grade. Have a "Super" day, Mary __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Yahoo!
