Roy, Brice Garner and Francis Anne Dunnivan had 10 issue I know of, the 8th being Brice, b. 28 April 1862, m. 20 November 1879 to John Franklin Armstrong. Their 1st child, of 11, was Eva Vida Armstrong, b. 20 Sept 1880, m. 24 April 1896 to (1) Charles Fisher Davis. Their 2nd child, Rubye T. Davis, m. 02 July 1927 to Dee Sanders Weldon. Their 1stborn, Billy Charles Weldon, is my father. Brice Garner is my 3rd greatgrandfather. I believe Shirley Woodlock has mentioned your name in an email, but I didn't know you were searching, too. I have been absent from this passion for a while, taking care of both of my parents, just got both of them home from rehab, mother with major back surgery, and dad with a staph infection from hip surgery...I owe Shirley some photos and info, maybe she hasn't written me off, hope to be back on track again after the holidays, and getting a break since the folks are better... Hi: I am researching Vandiver and Rhoads in Coryel Co TX, Tippah Co. MS, Giles and Lawrence and Wayne Co.. TN.Anderson Co SC and Fairfax Co VA, Prince George Co MD. Etc, Etc. I also believe some of the Welch desendents migrated to Coryel and Mclennan Co Tx. My. Ancestors... Elisha Vandiver Married H. Lucinda Melton... Lawrence or Wayne Co. Tn. Their daughter Hettie Lucinda Vandiver married Felix Murray Rhoads in Tippah Co Ms in 1866. Their daughter, My Great Grandmother Sally Josephine Rhoads married Luther Spratt Weatherford in 1890 in Faulkner co Ar. Elisha was a Freewill Baptist Minister, he died in TN. Lucinda died in Prentiss Co MS and is buried there. Hettie's brothers, Carlisle Graves Vandiver and Charles Mack also re-located to Texas. Hettie and Felix came in the 1870's and I think Carlisle came before the Civil War. Felix was in the 19th MS infantry and was captured and paroled in Maryland in 1865. Elisha's parents were George H. Vandiver and Ascenith Welch. George H's father, Edward Vandiver was a Patriot in the Revolutionary war. He served in South Carolina. If my research is correct, and I think it is, Ascenith's parents were William C. Welch and Jane Elizabeth Hembree. Williams father Nicholas Welch served as a Major in the British Army from North Carolina. I think Felix Murrays parents were William Roads and Polly Elizabeth Armour. Polly parents would be Davis Wiley Armour and Polly Elizabeth Lively. I do have some basis for this belief. Would love to exchange information with anyone. I am especially interested in a Biography of Carlisle. I found it mentioned on the Gen Forum but did not give the source. I welcome any and all additions and corrections on this information.
