Hi, I'm searching for descendants of John TURNEY (1831 to 1870) and Sarah TRIMMIER (1835-1908). John and Sarah moved to Texas from Illinois and in March 1854 John became the county's first Sheriff. They had five children: Arabelle Turney who married J.C. Christian Charles Travis Turney who m. (1) Ella Cox and m. (2) Bessie Pauline Baugh Mary (Mollie) Turney who married Dan Briggs Valrous Paul Turney who married Lucinda Mahala Gobble Moses M. Turney who d. age 21 Charles Travis Turney and Bessie Baugh are my great-grandparents. C.T. made one of the first cattle drives from Texas to the New Mexico territory and owned a large ranch in Dona Ana County.
