Hello Cousin Sandra!! Cindy sent me your information and the picture of John A. and Nancy...we couldn't believe there was a 3rd picture of them. I had one and Cindy had one but neither of us had seen this one before. How exciting to meet you. My granny was Tempe Caroline Patterson, youngest daughter of John A. and Nancy - little sister to all the Patterson "boys"- wife of Albert Jasper Butler (Palo Pinto) - mother to my grandmother, Birdie Lee Butler and grandmother to my daddy....etc. etc. Cindy and I just found each other a few months ago and have been exchanging information and pictures. I live in Carter County, Oklahoma where all the Pattersons, except for George, moved to in the latter 1880's. I've visited Bosley cemetery and taken pictures of George and Amanda's graves as well as John A. and Nancy (Ferrell) Patterson's - and their children. Has Cindy sent you family information yet? You asked about John A.'s brother - he was "Uncle Pit" or Daniel Pitchford Patterson b 24 Nov 1833 and married Elizabeth Hart in 1854. Pit visited Texas a few times but remained in Ripley. You are so fortunate to live where you do right next to the Archives and Vital's - you realize we will keep you busy now <g> Just wanted to say hello and welcome to the family. I'll be talking to you more tomorrow but it's almost 11 and this old lady has got to get to bed. Can't wait to find out more about George and his family and exchange pictures with you. Believe it or not, your picture is a younger version of John A. and Nancy than what we have (or maybe not - they look old in all the pictures, come to think of it!) - my granny looked exactly like her mother!
