Looking for someone who has access to old newspapers in Cooke County. Looking for an obit about Robert E. L. Robeson/Robinson who was raised in Cooke County and went out west and was a correspondent for the San Francisco Examiner Newspaper. On May 26, 1894, he went ashore on the Island of Tiburon, south of California, for water and was killed there by the natives who were said to be cannibals. Was reported in Arizona papers and said the story was widely spread. Was wondering if it made his home town paper? Someone said they thought the paper around that time frame was the Hesperian.
