Good evening! I have an old land platt map which covers the northwest corner of Cooke Co., TX. near the Red River. My husband and I saw a huge map hanging on the wall of a surveyor office in Gainesville, TX. back in 1988.(I do not remember name of office) Though we could not remove the map and copy it, I did manage to take a few photos of a particular part of it. There are a lot of names on there. If anyone has people who may have been in that area in the 1870s on, and you would like to know if they owned property in the northwest part of the county, this map may show it. Send me your names and I will look. The map contains first and last name, so I will need that. Wendy

Looking for anyone searching the families of Wm and Elizabeth Mason of NC b 1814,1819 respectively, who lived in Cooke Co., TX 1880. William and Elizabeth had son Wm b about 1845 AL, married to ? (too difficult to read in 1880 census). Also a son named Thomas b about 1856 ARK. Wm, JR. had following children: Robert b 1869 ARK; Emma b 1871 ARK; Charly b 1875 ARK; Oliver b 1878 TX; Lira b 1879 TX. William, Jr. died before 1900. His widow, ?, and son Oliver were in 1900 Cooke Co; Tx census. I believe one of their sons, either Robert or Charley married a Rose Kerr. William, Jr. died before 1900. But Wm and Rose had a daughter, Beulah b 1899 TX. Rose and Beulah were living with William and Maggie Kerr 1900 Cooke Co; Tx census. Rose must have died before 1910 because in 1910 census, Beulah is still living with Kerr grandparents but Rose is not listed with them. Billie
