    2. Have seen some interesting posts lately where people come across old photos and have successfully matched them with someone's search. Any photos of John Marion Robeson/Robinson and wife Ellen Self Robeson/Robinson and children: Robert,Sallie/Lizzie, Mollie, Lou Ellen, Kate, Charles and Annie that might surface who would appreciated. They were in the Fannin and Cooke County area in the 1870's and 1880's. Lizzie Robeson was my g.grandmother and photos of her are rare. I am glad to see when old photos have been saved and passed on. Thank you, Faye Heffington Littlefield, Texas

    1. Area report of death R.E.L. Robinson
    2. R.E.L. (Robert E. Lee)Robinson/Robeson was on census in Fannin and Cooke counties with his parents in 1870 and 1880 before leaving home for the West. He was a writer and adventurer out in Arizona and was murdered on the island of Tiburon off Mexico by natives May 26, 1891. The incident made the AP wires. Was hoping there might be something in papers back in the region where he grew up. His parents were John Marion and Ellen Self Robeson/Robinson. Any help would be appreciated. 3. Write the County Clerk's office in Gainesville, Cooke Co TX and see if they have records of such a marriage. My grandparents were married in Cooke Co in 1895 and I was able to get a copy of their license and their marriage certificate. 3. Judy, I am not researcing the Walker surname. But, I was at the courthouse and library in Gainesville today. Found the following info on Mary F. Walker: Cooke County Death Records 1955-present: death certificate infomration. born 6/16/1861864 in Tennessee died 3/22/1957 in Gainesville, Tx. Last residence: 803 S. Rusk St., Gainesville cause of death: cerebral vascular accident father: Daniel W. May, born in Tennessee mother: Carolin Martin, born in Tennessee Informant: Della Walker, daughter Funeral director: Vernie Keel Funeral Home, Gainesville Interent: Valley View Cemetery At the library, I did find and make a copy of her obituary, Gainesville Daily Register, 3/23/1957. Vernie Keel Funeral Home, now Clement-Keel is still in business her, and on the road to my house, so I stopped. They kindly made a copy of her funeral record for me. The funeral home does not charge for the funeral record, which has much of the same information as a death certificate. Of interest to me was that the funeral home lists her fathers name as Dan Walker May. Oh, and the funeral home info lists her name as Mary Frances Walker. If you want the obit and the funeral home info, please e-mail me privately with your postal address. I will mail them to you.
