I have come up with several dead ends. I am particularly interested in finding the descendents of Dollie S. C. Townsend and Elijah A. Evans, married December 27, 1877 at Elder Methodist Church in Colorado County, TX. My records say that they had four daughters, unknown. I believe one of those daughters was my great grandmother, Laura Irene Evans Bates. We also have no records of her husband, Charles Edward or Edward Charles Bates. I know that Dollie's mother was Susan Townsend Bostick Townsend who died around the time of Dollies' birth, February 27, 1860. Susan Townsend, daughter of Asa Townsend, first married Sion Bostick. I would really like to know what the reasons were for their divorce in 1856. Susan then married Nov. 28, 1857,her cousin Light Townsend, son of Thomas R. Townsend.
