Last year, as many of you know, MyFamily, which also owns Ancestry, bought Rootsweb. At the time, they pledged to keep Rootsweb free, as it has been from the beginning. Recently message boards from Rootsweb's GenConnect (which I've used on my county sites) and Ancestry's were merged. Along with many other county and surname board administrators, I have spent most of the last 3 days trying to work with the new system. At my age, change is tough! There are still some bugs and kinks to be worked out, but I think this will be a good system to use to post your queries and other data. I've set up a page for each of my counties, explaining the basics, and a link to the new Message Board site. One big change is that you will have to register to post a message. If you already are registered with MyFamily or Ancestry, you can use that username and password - or set up a new one. There is no charge for registering. You can read and search messages without registering.
