Robertson, is on the 1900 census of Colorado County TX (as "Robinson") with the occupation of "Guard of Convicts". There are many men on the same census page also listed as guards and one man (George Channel) listed as manager.This was in the Eagle Lake area as my grandmother was born in Eagle Lake in 1898. What kind of convicts would these have been? -- jgr
