Dedrick was a photographer in Colordao County, Weimar Texas from approximately 1910 - 1932. He had several remote studios in surround towns. I am looking for photos or photo postcards taken by John or his wife Patricia. I am in the process of writing a book on his works and have nearly completed 1892-1910 in Taloga, Oklahoma....his favorite works there were the American indians. She was the mother of Mrs.A.L.Marx Sr.and Hans N.German of this city. Funeral services were held at 4:00 p.m. Sunday from the Mill-Bauer Funeral Home with pastor of the Cat Spring Lutheran Church officiating in the absence of the Rev.Wayne Landgrebe. Graveside services in Lakeside Cemetery were conducted by the Rev.Henry Adrion III,pastor of the First Baptist Church. Serving as pallbearers were her grandson and grandson-in-law: Hans German Jr.,Palacios,Arthur Franke of Victoria,Jim Mathis Sr,of Eagle Lake,Milton German and Charlie Hatterman,Jr.,of Columbus,Charles F.German,and Lloyd W.German of Brookshire,and Kenneth W.German of Victoria. Margaret Schneider was born on Sept.27th 1877 in Savanna,Ill.the daughter of Mr.and Mrs.George Schneider.She married Hans H.German at Oconto,Nebraska on March 1,1900.To this union were born two daughters and four sons.Her husband preceded her in death on Sept.18 1956 and a daughter died in infancy in 1907. The family came to this county settling in the Sheridan area where Mr.German farmed until his retirement in about 1936.For the past 25 years they resided near her daughter and family,and for the past 3 years in the home of Mr.and Mrs.Marx until her move to Schulenburg 4 months ago. Surviving are:one daughter Mrs.Alfred Marx:four sons,Hans N.of Eagle Lake,Aaron W.of near Weimar,Clarence R. of Brookshire and Charlie L. of Victoria:12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren:one sister Mrs.Anne Helsel of Edgemont South Dakota;one half sister,Mrs.Martha Lanier of Decatur,Ga.and a number of nieces and nephews. All of her immediate family attended the services except three grandsons,Alfred Marx Jr.and family of St.Louis,Mo.;Charles German and wife of Pensacola,Fla.;and Lester German with the Armed Services in Germany. She was a devoted wife and mother and a friend to all and she shall be missed dearly by all her loved ones.

    3. I am looking for any information on George Baker Halyard and his family He came to Colorado County in the 1800's and his children were born in and around Columbus. George died in 1878 sons are buried in Columbus and Weimer so assume he is buried there also but do not know for sure. There is a Halyard Cemetery on Hwy 71 where Alfonso and family are buried but there is no headstone for George. Does anyone have any information on this family? They were married in Frelsburg, Colorado county on 25 Dec 1873 and are found there on the 1880 census. Mary Jane usually went by the name Jane. Some time between 1880 and 1901, they moved to Lagrange, Fayette, Texas where their youngest child, Van Lawrence Johnson, was born. By 1920, they were in Fort Worth, Tarrant, Texas where Van married Maudrie Kinney on 7 July, 1920. Jessie's father was an Irish slave owner and his mother was a slave. He is known to have one brother whose name is unknown. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
