I think I may have located the Daniels family, but have not been able to prove it out. 1870 census John T Daniels was in Columbus. The film is so bad I can not read it, but there is a Enos(Enis) listed. I have tried to find the same family in 1880, as he had a brother Al that was born in 1876, and if he was with this family, I would know this was the correct ones.
I am looking for information on Benjamin S. Leonard and William Kingston both listed in the 1880 Census. Benjamin S Leonard married Helen Kingston and moved to Yoakum. William Kinston married Helen Holder.
Hi, Carolyn Do you by any chance have a R.T. or R.F Schultz who married a Sarah Crockett in Henderson county, Tx on 04-04-1872 in your lineage any where. my gggrandfather had a sister named Sarah who was born in Jasper co, tx and i found this marriage record online at Rootsweb for Henderson county tx. I don't know if this is my Sarah but the dates might be right for her and she is no where to be found after 1870 in Jasper. The marriage record for henderson has his name listed as R.T. Shultz but the LDS website has it as R.F. Shultz. These 2 are not in Henderson co on the 1880 census either. My Sarah was close to Houston she was born in Jasper co Tx. Thanks Debra
I am searching for descendants of Thomas Burtschell (born ca. 1871), probably the son of Henry Burtschell (1839-?) and Annie Hoover (1849-1878). He is shown on the 1880 Colorado Co. census as living with his grandfather Joseph P. Hoover, Annie's father. Henry & Annie are found on the 1870 census in precinct #3, Frelsburg P.O., Colorado Co. Annie is shown as being from Kentucky. Thanks for any help in locating members of this family. Arliss Treybig, El Campo TX aatrey@wcnet.net

--part1_a9.176b2f20.28691466_boundary Content-Type: text/plain; charset="US-ASCII" Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit hi, The greatest improvement will be if people will only be able to reply on the board. I've spent hundreds of hours on research to post on public boards each month only to have my e-mail box filled with people wanting to carry on looooonggg off board discussions that would require thousands of hours each month. Can't they realize how important it is to spend your time WISELY? Post all of your information accurately in a public format, NOT repeat it daily to everyone who inquires. I've even added at the bottom of every reply, "All of the above information came from... (the source)... and nothing more about this family is known by me at this time." Still some persist in DAILY pestering me, wanting more. Everytime i've written back to explain to them how important it is to keep ALL postings public they've never done that... perhaps their pride gets in the way? Some are from another state, looking for an unknown SMITH or JOHNSON and want you spend hours tracking them down, when there was no proof the guy ever lived in your state. Yet every "newbie" out there has the potential of holding onto the missing piece to my jigsaw puzzle, so i'll always go out of my way to be extra nice... even after they share what they have. You can now post photographs and other types of files for all to see... maybe its an easier way of identifying someone? By clicking the writer's name you can see their other postings under that user name. It was a shock to my system to see the new board... but if all postings are to the board... i'm happy! happy hunting dennis in reply to: In a message dated 6/25/01 4:56:59 PM Central Daylight Time, rexbrown@shreve.net writes: > Subj: New Message Board > Date: 6/25/01 4:56:59 PM Central Daylight Time > From: rexbrown@shreve.net (Gail Brown) > Reply-to: <A HREF="mailto:rexbrown@shreve.net">rexbrown@shreve.net</A> (Gail Brown) > To: TXCOLORA-L@rootsweb.com > > Last year, as many of you know, MyFamily, which also owns Ancestry, bought > Rootsweb. The Colorado County cemetery records are now available online on the Columbus, Texas, web site. www.columbustexas.net (click on Nesbitt Library) or go directly to the library site http://www.columbustexas.net/library/cemetery.html The records have been at the library in print form for several years. Bill Stein, library director and archivist, and many volunteers searched every known cemetery and burial site in the county. Mr. Stein then used other records in order to locate information about the individuals. Some records include the name of the spouse, the names of the parents with maiden name of mother, military service, etc. The records are divided into four groups alphabetically: A-F, G-K, L-R, S-Z. There is a search capability. Suggestions: Be sure that all records are loaded before beginning the search. You may or may not pick up those loaded after you begin. Try alternate spellings. (I looked for the name Burtschell with one t; none were listed although many Burtschells are buried in Colorado County. I then scrolled until I found the name, spelled with two t's.) The search picks up the name regardless of where it appears (such as maiden names of spouses or mothers). Therefore, unless you are looking for only one person, you may want to check all four groups for other possible family members. Check the library site periodically to see what else has been added from the collection. Visit the library when you are in Columbus. It has a very good genealogy and Texana collection. GenConnect Message Boards - which I use on the county site - are in the process of being merged with Ancestry.com's Message Boards. Better and improved utilities are promised, but I don't have any idea when the merge will be complete. For the time being, new posts are not being accepted on the GenConnect Boards, so please be patient until the new ones are ready. Henry is my great grandfather. But he went by Johnson later in life and we suspect he is the son of a previous marriage of Lavinia . I have done some research on the Sublett line and have it back to France. ________________________________________________________________ GET INTERNET ACCESS FROM JUNO!
