I have lots of pictures from the Mentz area of the people I am researching and a lot of them I don't know who they are. I think it would be great to be able to identify them via the internet." I would really like to add something like this to the site. If you have visited the Fayette County site lately you will note that they have several photos to be identified. I would also like to have old pictures from various communities within the county to add to the pages. Remember these these are your pages, I only get to have the fun of putting your ideas into action. Thanks,, Dorothy

    2. Dorothy W. Albrecht
    3. Hi! I am Dorothy Albrecht the new coordinator for the Colorado County TXGenWeb pages and the Colorado County Mailing List. I was born and reared in Colorado County where I lived until 1953 when I married and moved next door to Fayette County. My family first came to Colorado County in 1840 and I have a very special place in my heart for it. Please let me hear from you. I want to know what you like and what you might dislike about the web site. Also what you find helpful and what you would like to see added to the site. I have some ideas but will welcome yours. Also, if you have any information that you would like to share on the site, I would be most happy to consider it. Now, since there has not been much activity on the mail list for awhile, let's do a roll call. In a separate email, I will list some of the families that I am researching and hope that you will do the same. Dorothy

    1. BUESCHER in Colorado County TX
    2. Lee
    3. Greetings; This is my first time here. I am seeking information on my Büscher line who may have come to Texas in 1853. My ggfather was Ernst Heinrich Büscher born in 1839 in Hustädte, Kreis Wittlage, Hannover.(This village is near Osnaubruck in northwestern Germany). He and his wife Marie came to Cleveland in 1864 and then on to Minnesota in 1868. One of his uncles was named Johann Heinrich Büscher, born 5 Oct 1811 also in Hustädte. Johann alone with his 2nd wife Marie Elisabeth came to America in 1852/53 along with their 4 children. This is the entry from "Germans to America" I am think this is his family - 7 Jun 1853: Arrived at New York from Bremen on the "Bessel". Last Residence was Hustaede. Final destination was Pittsburgh. Buscher, Heinrich, aged 40, a farmer Buscher, Maria Elisab. aged 50 Buscher, Carl Wilh., aged 16 Buscher, Heinr., aged 14 Buscher, Ernst Heinr. aged 10 There are no records on the 1880 Federal census of Buescher's in PA so they must have moved on right away...perhaps to Texas?? Thank you for any help, Lee in snowing Wisconsin
