Because of some info in the 1850 and 1860 census, I am wondering if his mother's name may have been Catherine who married a Joseph Tinkler. I would really appreciate any help or any little tidbit of info. Thanks. Kaye
Thank you for your reply. I found this Enos in 1870 census living with the B M LACY family. It shows he was b. NC 1796. Not sure what his connection is to this family. No one else was b. If anyone has access to the 1910 Colorado CO, TX census could you please look up a family for me. I show a Dora Hayek married 1902 to Ernest Conrad Bertsch. This family lived in the Columbus , Colorado Co. area. I had been given the children's names but the birth dates just don't jive with the marriage date. Dora went on and married a Joe Richter in 1930 and I haven't found any children for that marriage as yet. The three children I was told were Dora's children are : Lillian Lester Ernest J. But there is some discrepancies as to who belongs to which husband. If someone could tell me who was listed in the household of Ernest Bertsch in 1910 I think I could piece this together. I thank you in advance for any help and do truly appreciate any information I can obtain. Sincerely, Polly --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free. Please take time to check out what is new on the Colorado County TXGenWeb pages http://www.rootsweb.com/~txcolora/ Thanks to Ernest Mae Seaholm our Bible records have increased greatly, Go to http://www.rootsweb.com/~txcolora/bibleindex.htm to access the index. The "Mc" and "S" links are not working at the moment. (They are waiting on me to enter the McMillan and Scates records) Thanks to inspiration from Sally Grey Weeks and much help from Martha Prince, our obituaries have increased in volume. Some with photos displayed. Surely some of you have obituaries that you want to share. Check them out at http://www.rootsweb.com/~txcolora/obitsindex.htm Sometime in the not too distance future, these obits will be linked to the burials on the Nesbitt Library site http://www.columbustexas.net/library/cemetery.html Within the next few weeks, we will be adding weekly those obituaries that appear in the Colorado County Citizen and we are working on a way to get those from 2000 forward. John Konesheck is going to be helping with getting listings of burials in some of the smaller cemeteries. We need pictures of these cemeteries to enhance our pages. See http://www.rootsweb.com/~txcolora/cemeteries_a.htm for a preview of what is to come. We are also looking for pictures (especially old ones) and information on schools in the county. There is a partial listing of school (old and current) at http://www.rootsweb.com/~txcolora/schools2.htm Census images for 1850 through 1930 have been order by the Nesbitt Library and will be online in about two months. David Hahn is working on an index for the 1930 census and I believe that Bill has someone working on the 1900. I have been playing (slowly) with the 1870. I find it is more fun and productive to work with the web site. As you can see we are making progress with getting information online. Visit us often and be free with your suggestions and information. I really appreciate all of the cooperation that I have received since becoming your county coordinator. It isn't always easy for an ol' dog to learn new tricks, but I am really enjoying the challenge of getting Colorado County information on line.
