Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/XhB.2ACE/640.1 Message Board Post: The list of Colorado County Burials found on the Nesbitt Memorial Library (Columbus) site is composed in part of information gleaned from obituaries of the county newspapers. I did not find the name Theilengerdes included in them. As county coordinator for the Colorado County TXGenWeb site, one of the project underway is listing obituaries for the county. However, this is going to be a long and unending job. The best I can offer is to say I'll keep a lookout for that name. We do not have an organized plan of attack at this time. We are accepting obits from anyone who might have them to share, have a volunteer who is copying obits I have made xerox copies of and sent him and I am working on typing those that I have in my family files, Weimar cemeteries files and any others that happened to get into my hands. I know that this is probably not the most efficient way to handle this project, but it is the easiest for me at this time. I will try to locate the records of the New Bielau church. If I should find them, I will let you know.

Surnames: THEILENGERDES, MUELLER Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/XhB.2ACE/639 Message Board Post: I'm seeking the location of Lutheran church records from a church at New Bielau, about 5 miles south of Weimar. That church was called Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church. It was established before 1900 and later was to become part of the United Church of Christ in Weimar (which itself had been the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Weimar). I'm researching a "Theilengerdes" family. The parents were George 'Gerhardt' and Anna Heinjes Theilengerdes. Their children were Johanna, Fritz and Ernst 'August'. The time period in Weimar for this family would have been from about 1888-1910. Johanna Theilengerdes married John Diedrich William Mueller on December 20, 1900. Gerhardt's wife Anna Heinjes Theilengerdes died about 1893 while they were living there. He died in August 1901. I'm trying to find any records which may indicate the location of where Anna (or both) was buried. The couple is my husband's great-grandparents. One of the sons, Ernst 'August', was my husband's grandfather. Thanks to anyone with information or clues.

Mother was Mary Hunt. I believe the Gay Farm was the one owned by Elizabeth Gay, widow of Rufus King Gay. Polk Edwards was killed in a saloon shooting at Ellinger on Christmas eve, 1895. Believed buried on Gay Farm at "Mr. Wilson's burying ground". Anyone with information on location of this burial ground or of either Bettie Hunt, Mary Hunt, or Polk Edwards, please let me know.
I am looking for information on my gr grandfather's family. His name was George JOHNSON and he married my gr grandmother Melissa WOOLIVER in Colorado Co. TX on 07Jan.1875. VA The George JOHNSON #91 in 1880 is my gr grandfather, gr grandmother, and gr uncle. They had 3 more sons and a daughter, before he died. Their names were Albert Sidney ( my grandfather ), Walter Monroe, Fred Ernest, and Myra Belle. I am not sure why the two boys, George and Benjamin were living with George W. in 1850 (and was he their father or grandfather or maybe uncle???) and were living with Dandridge in 1860. The fact that J C OAKES is next to my gr grandfather in 1880, makes it look like George is living on Dandridge's property, as OAKES was next to him in 1860 and 1870.
John Konesheck sent me the last of the extractions from Columbus Odd Fellows Rest Cemetery today and they have been formatted and placed online. Now all of the cemetery records on the Nesbitt Memorial Library site have been extracted and are available by cemetery on the Colorado County TXGenWeb site http://www.rootsweb.com/~txcolora/ If you want to view them in alphabetical order go to the library site http://www.columbustexas.net/library/cemetery.html We have already discovered some missing burials while viewing by cemetery. If you find any additions and/or corrections, please notify me at <albrecht@fais.net>. If you have any obituaries to add to our collection, please email them to me at the same address. Thanks to our many volunteers, our collection has grown to just under 400, but we have a long way to go. Be sure to include the name of the newspaper and the date line, if possible, with any submission. You will be given credit for any obituaries which you submit. Thanks for your help, Dorothy Albrecht County Coordinator Colorado County TXGenWeb Project

Lyons who was a school teacher according to the 1910 Census. Perhaps a school yearbook, if there were yearbooks at that time. Or a news article(s) of some event, even a death article (He died 1947). He was a school teacher and perhaps some remember him as their teacher. Any description of Stephen J. Lyons would be welcome as I am verifying only one eyewitness. Thanks,

My Grandmother Wallace told me that she danced around the Maypole there as a young girl. When I asked about this recently, I was told that the area was called The Grove and that that is where the Volkvest was held. I grew up in the house next door to the tree. There were no houses under it then, but we had several tree houses in it.
