    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Washington, Phillips Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/XhB.2ACE/646 Message Board Post: I'm searching for the parentage of Thomas Abbie Washington, who was born around September 1871 in Texas and died in 1902. He is buried in Floresville, Wilson? County, Texas. Thomas married Addie Leona Eason (born on Aug 1872 in Tennessee and died about 1938 in Texas) on 29 Jan 1893 in Colorado County, Texas. Thomas and Addie had three children: Elmo Franklin (born 6 Nov 1893 in Floresville, Wilson? County, Texas, d. 7 Mar 1959 in Gladewater, Gregg County, Texas); Hayden Washington; and Eleanor Washington. I believe I found Thomas Abbie in the 1880 Colorado County, Texas census. He was living with his mother (Nancy Phillips, born about 1853 in Mississippi), his grandmother Elizabeth A. (born about 1831 in South Carolina), and Elizabeth's second husband, George Taylor. This is all the info I have on this family. Thomas Abbie is my ex-father-in-law's grandfather. My father-in-law is 86 years old and in failing health. I would love to be able to give him has ancestry before he dies...he would be so delighted! Can anyone help? My new email address is jwashington@charter.net.

    3. I am looking for information on my gr grandfather's family. His name was George JOHNSON and he married my gr grandmother Melissa WOOLIVER in Colorado Co. TX on 07Jan.1875. I do not know where he was born or died. She was a widow on the 1900 census. Below are the famlies I think he is contacted with. Franks Township St. Francis Co. VA The George JOHNSON #91 in 1880 is my gr grandfather, gr grandmother, and gr uncle. They had 3 more sons and a daughter, before he died. Their names were Albert Sidney ( my grandfather ), Walter Monroe, Fred Ernest, and Myra Belle. I am not sure why the two boys, George and Benjamin were living with George W. in 1850 (and was he their father or grandfather or maybe uncle???) and were living with Dandridge in 1860. The fact that J C OAKES is next to my gr grandfather in 1880, makes it look like George is living on Dandridge's property, as OAKES was next to him in 1860 and 1870. Shirley Louann Roark

    2. Is this a rerun of the ones that I received some time back through this site? They were sent thru Ofotonow? Unless they are a rerun, I'd like them! Anyone out there have any pictures of blacksmith shops there? Our Nave kin had several! Picture taking, but the way dates from before the Civil War, for those who never realized that, like me! 1. Rev. Tilmond Green, Weimar, Texas
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Green Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/XhB.2ACE/645 Message Board Post: I am looking for Rev. Tilmond Green(e), an African American Baptist minister. I am not related to this family; rather, I am a member of the Brazos County, Texas, historical commission and am working on writing a historical marker application for an African American orphanage which operated near Bryan (Brazos County) from 1906 to 1931. Rev. Green served as the head of the orphanage for several years, and was serving in that capacity when he died in October 1924. His obituary in the Bryan Eagle states that his funeral was held at Shiloh Baptist Church, but his body was returned to his former home at Weimar for burial. All the biographical data I have for this man is what little I could get from his obituary and from the 1920 census: 1920 Brazos Co., Texas, Census, ED 12, sheet 5b: Greene, Tilmond H. 52 , Ella 36 (?) his wife , James L. 27 his son , Jennie 14 his daughter While I can complete the marker application with just this data, I admit to being somewhat obsessive - compulsive <g>, and would like to say a little more about this man's career before he took over running the orphanage. Any assistance would be appreciated. Thanks, Bill Page Bryan, Texas
