He and his wife, Mary Jane Massie (who went by Jane) had 7 known children. Their names were: Esther (1874), Mattie (1876), Alice (1894), Servalia (1896), Will, Ida and Van Lawrence (1901). According to the 1880 census, Jessie's parents were born in Georgia. In the 1880 census, there is a Jack and Mariah Johnson listed in Colorado, Texas and were both from Georgia and were both 60 years old. Jessie was a mullatto since, as I said before, his father was the slave owner. I hope this helps and there is a match, I do have some more names if you need them. Sharon James

I am told that she had an uncle named Jesse. I know that her father's name was James-Jim Johnson (mulatto, 1880 Census). I can not locate him before James 1880 in Fayette Co. I am searching for his parents. However I do have our family bible that's 100 yrs old and Jessie is listed. My g-uncle, son of Luberta, lives in houston and speaks of a Jesse. A. PESCHKE 11/22/1881 and moved to Bellville in 1904; he died 3/30/1914 after which she lived with Mr. & Mrs. O. T. WOLNITZEK; burial 7/11/1941 in Oak Knoll Cemetery; survivors: daughters, Miss Mary PESCHKE, Mrs. O. T. WOLNITZEK and Mrs. Annie BUSHON of Dallas and sons, Joe A. and Edward J. S. PESCHKE of Bellville, 8 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren; all businesses in Bellville were closed during the funeral. Joseph Peschke's first wife was Juditta Friedrich; she is my ancestor so I know little of Mary Lutringer.

"Jimmie" Holchak and and Leana Holchak. They are buried beside each other in the Mount Zion Cemetery in Burton, Washington County, Texas. According to census records, James "Jimmie" HOLCHAK was a son of Joe HOLCHAK and his wife Francis. The 1880 Census for Frelsburg, Colorado County, Texas shows a Martin HOLSHAK family with a son, Joseph, who the same age as James HOLCHAK's father. The 1910 Census shows Jimmie HOLCHAK and his siblings, Mollie, Tophil, and Julia, living with their parents, Joe and Francis, in Maple Grove, Montrose County, Colorado. The 1920 US Census shows James HOLCHAK, his widowed mother, Francis, and his siblings, Mollie, Theofil, and Julia were living in Wharton County, Texas.
