August 4, 1873 just east of Packsaddle Mountain was the last indian fight in Texas. I believe Packsaddle Mountain is in Llano County. I have a massive book on Depredations by Indians in Texas. Parker County was the worst hit county in the 1850s by indian depredations. My great grandfather, John Danzy Sheen, was involved in an indian raid in the area of Brown County in 1869 (Present day Coleman County). The Gray family in Cherokee, San Saba county, would not keep their horses in that county, but kept them in Williamson Co, due to the indian raids to steal horses and this may have continued into the 1870s.
