Brenda Kellow contacted me today with some exciting Collin County News! Do you know a Genealogy Friend? Well in Collin County the Genealogy Friends group supports the Genealogy Section of Plano's Gladys Harrington Library and educate the patrons of Collin County. This Wednesday, they are giving to Gladys Harrington Library the entire 1820 US Federal Census on CD-ROM--a historical first as past census have been only on microfilm. Past donations last year were the complete U.S. census for 1790, 1800, 1810 plus other significant donations. They volunteer weekly to help the patrons with their research; hold quarterly Library Lock-ins; offer free Saturday Morning Seminars every third Saturday of the month except October. The October seminar is a moneymaking project. The speaker for Oct. 2000 is nationally known lecturer Christine Rose, CG, and CGL.
