    1. [TXCOLL-N-L] Feud at the Corners???

    3. I assume the question refers to this feud----"activities of people classified as desperadoes, scalawags, guerrillas, Jay-Hawkers, and Red Legs, who resided, some permanently, some temporarily, in the vicinity of Pilot Grove, Hog Eye, Choctaw Bottom, Wildcat Thicket, and Jernigan Thicket, all in North Texas or otherwise in the areas of where the boundaries of the Grayson, Fannin, Collin, and Hunt counties come together. The oldest settlement and headquarters of the area was at Pilot Grove, often called Lickskillet, because of the poverty and hunger experienced by the people there during the years of the War, 1861--1865. "The Feud" took place in the days of Reconstruction." source: "Murder at the Corners" by G.B. Ray. If you can locate a copy of this book, it makes for some very interesting reading---especially if you have ancestors involved or lived in the area at those times!!
