My first ancestors to arrive in Collin Co. TX were my great great grandparents Benjamin Franklin and Alsy Jane STARR BIGGS. They moved from Rusk Co. TX to Collin Co. shortly after the Civil War and lived in the area between Parker and Lucas. The BIGGS family previously had lived in Stewart Co. TN and Martin Co. NC. My mother's paternal grandmother Margaret Catherine BIGGS was the 5th of 10 children born to this marriage. My great grandfather James Francis STINSON was born in Medina Co. OH in 1852, may have lived for a while after the Civil War in Newton Co. MO, and arrived in Collin Co. during the 1870's. James Francis STINSON and Margaret Catherine BIGGS were married in Collin Co. in November 1876. My maternal grandfather William Benjamin STINSON was the 7th of 10 children born to this marriage. Next to arrive in Collin Co. (probably in 1894 or 1895) were my great grandparents Thomas A. and Caroline Tabitha Ann LEE ROGERS. They married and began their family in Chatooga and Walker Counties GA, then lived near Thomas's grandparents in Washington Co. AR for a few years before moving to Collin Co. My maternal grandmother Lestelle ROGERS was their 11th child and the 4th born in Collin Co. Finally, my paternal grandfather John Wesley ROBINSON arrived in Collin Co. about 1896 from Coffee Co. TN.
