Sorry for the duplicate posting to Collin County, TX and San Saba Co, TX lists but I need to post in San Saba County and was answering a reply to a query placed on Collin Co, TX list. : The BOMAR a/k/a BOMER family in my line could have branched out to Collin County, TX. Jennettie Frances BOMAR b 25May1850 in Lebanon, Wilson Co, TN married my greatgrandfather William Henry LEDBETTER b 12/5/1843 Pulaski, Giles County, TN. They were married in Richland Springs, San Saba Co, TX 10/31/1866 and lived in that area until they both died. The Bomars, James Rila BOMAR pob Smith Co, TN and wife Louisa DAVIS BOMAR and children, Jennettie b 5/25/1850, James L b abt 1852, Nancy J b abt 1855, Thomas b abt 1856, Azorn dau b abt 1859 and Sue a b abt 1866, all born in TX except Jennettie. came to TX from Wilson Co, TN in 1852/53. After stopping in Grayson County where the family lived for four years, they went to San Saba county in 1857, the next year after the county was organized and while it was still in the range of periodic Indian raids. There is an old swimming hole in Richland Creek which still bears the name of "Bomar Hole" by reason of the fact that Mr. Bomar leaped from a high bank into a deep pool of water in the creek and thus escaped death at the hands of maruading Indians. Jennettie was very active in the community and I have some interesting information on her if these BOMARS are in your line.....
