She was an early settler of Collin county, coming here from Tennessee in 1855. Her husband Coleman White, died in 1884. He first came to Texas in the year 1845, served in the Mexican War and returned to Tennessee where he married, afterwards returning to Texas in 1855 and settling near Rock Hill in the western part of Collin County. Her multitude of friends will feel a sincere loneliness for in her home, there was ever a cheerful welcome. In her bright vivacious presence, no face was long shadowed with care. To her bereaved children we would say: The heart that loved you so is still, oppressed by grief your lot seem darkly drear. The God who gave has taken away and sorrow lowly bow your heads to earth. But let not suffering crush sweet living hope. Nor feel your mother's love entirely gone. Remember tho you see her not, she dwells with you in spirit form. She is not sad, why do you grieve? If you could see her smiling face as joined by those loved ones beyond. All trace of care forever gone, you would not weep but smile.
